A learning management system is essential to a Virtual Academy so that students have one place to go to for all of their online learning needs.

Educational Technology Tools (ED Tech)

An educational technology tool is used to blend technology with the content and curriculum already being taught in SMCPS. Using Ed Tech tools in the classroom allows teachers to create a more engaging, inclusive and individualized learning experience. Not all of the platforms will be used by all teachers, but the selection is offered in order to create the environment to meet the needs of each unique virtual classroom.

	Edmentum Edmentum is a learning platform offering flexible online curriculum and virtual learning opportunities for middle and high school students.
	EDPuzzle Edpuzzle is an online tool that allows teachers to pull in personal and web-based videos.
	Whiteboard.Chat Whiteboard Chat is a virtual whiteboard for teachers and students for collaborative learning.
	Smart Learning Center Intuitive web-based software that helps teachers create engaging lessons students can interact with in class or remotely.
	Desmos Desmos offers best-in-class calculators, digital math activities, and curriculum to help every student love learning math.
